She has been a college instructor at Joliet Junior College, teaching graphic design software and an instructor at Governors State University, teaching training techniques and message design. I am currently the Manager of Instructional Development at Florida Center for Interactive Media at Florida State University, leading a team of instructor designers. I am pursuing my doctorate, which focuses on professional development systems. Currently, I am the President of the National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA), which is a professional association serving professionals dedicated to strengthening regulatory programs to protect individuals in out-of-home-care. I work as a consultant for the Florida Departement of Children and Families Office of Child Care Regulations and previously worked there as the statewide training specialist and quality assurance specialist. I currently serves as the vice chair of the local Early Learning Coalition, member of the Tallahassee Community College Early Childhood Education advisory board, and serve on the statewide Career and Technical project advisory board. I am a current instructor and former Early Childhood Education Program Director at a community college, which offered both degrees and certificates for early childhood education.

Her assignments included extensive travel to and residence in international location points such as Germany, the Philippines, Asia, South and Central America and various other locations throughout the United States.  Currently, she is a key associate with Training and Consulting, Inc. of San Antonio, Texas, a forward-looking organization  which provides support and training for the executive level on professional development and other management philosophies.

During her tenure as an IACET Commissioner, Mary Ellen has served in numerous positions, including Commission Co-Chair (2010-2012) and Commission Chair (2012-2013) and the Commission Executive Committee (2008-2013). In 2015, she proudly received the IACET 2015 Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service.
