This interactive workshop is a collaborative learning event, where you will be able to assemble and validate the evidence in your application for accreditation by comparing it to the required documentation of the application and samples provided throughout the workshop.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this workshop, you will be able to:
• Identify and create the documents required by each element in the application and reapplication.
• Articulate the rationale behind the requirements of the ANSI/ IACET 1-2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training (the Standard).
• Create and/or modify internal policies and procedures that are compliant with the ANSI/ IACET 1-2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training and required as evidence in the (re)application.
• Create a plan to ensure Standard compliance throughout their organizations.
• Describe and practice the steps needed for sound Instructional Design and Delivery as required by the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training.
Learning Event Materials: Learner Workbook and handouts
In the Live-Onsite or the Virtual workshops, participants are encouraged to bring their actual application documentation to share.
Successful Completion: To receive a certificate of completion and a digital badge, you must attend 90% of the workshop and actively participate in the training activities, lectures, and discussion. If participating in a virtual workshop, you must have a working webcam and microphone; the webcam must be activated throughout the learning event.
The International Association for Continuing Education has been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute to offer educational programs that can be used towards initial eligibility and recertification of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials. This program qualifies for a maximum of 7 points.
Dr. Karen LaMarsh is a dedicated advocate for high-quality continuing and professional education, serving as the Chief Accreditation Officer for IACET. In this role, she leads the accreditation process, ensuring its integrity and effectiveness while supporting the organization’s strategic and operational goals. She is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring the Commission, managing application reviews—including appeals and denials—and overseeing accreditation workshops and webinars. Karen has been facilitating IACET workshops for over ten years.
With a strong commitment to maintaining the rigor of the ANSI/IACET Standard, Karen strives to make the accreditation process both meaningful and accessible. She brings over 20 years of experience in continuing education at two universities, as well as expertise in internal auditing. Karen holds an engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and earned her Master’s and Doctorate in Adult Education from the University of Georgia.

Success in a learning event is dependent on active participation and engagement by the attendee throughout the course. In order to earn a course completion certificate and digital badge for any IACET learning event, attendees are required to fully participate in the training activities, lectures, and discussion. This applies to those attending in-person and remotely. Participation is defined as greater than 90% attendance of the scheduled course time and active engagement verified by the facilitator. Remote participation requires a working webcam and microphone; the webcam must be activated throughout the learning event.
Registration fees will be refunded only if requests for cancelation/refunds are received in writing at least two weeks prior to the conference or educational offering. A 20% processing fee will be assessed. No refunds will be made within 14 days of an offering. However, substitutes may be made for another delegate to attend activities offered by the Association in lieu of the original applicant.
