This one-day workshop provides participants opportunities to practice writing policies, processes and developing plans to collect evidence.  It also provides applicants more in-depth discussion about what to submit for the annual report to best position themselves for reaccreditation in the fifth year.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:

  • Differentiate between policies, processes, instructions, SOPs, and evidence for the 2018 Standard IACET Application.
  • Develop and document policies and processes that reflect their CE/T functions.
  • Create a plan to gather evidence that supports their documented policies and processes.
  • Create a plan for communicating CE/T documentation throughout the organization (as well as third parties and clients) to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Discuss aspects of annual reporting and how effective documentation of changes and improvements facilitates the process of reaccreditation

Karen LaMarsh

Karen holds an engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a Masters and Doctorate in Adult Education from the University of Georgia. Her work experience includes eight years with the College of Continuing and Professional Education at Kennesaw State University. For two years, she was an internal auditor for the Board of Regents with the University System of Georgia. Her most recent position was the Executive Director of Clayton State University Continuing and Professional Education. She served as the Chair of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents Administrative Committee on Public Service and Continuing Education for three years. With the Georgia Adult Education Association, she held the offices of Vice President for Programs, President, Past President, and Member-at-Large. As a staunch advocate for quality adult continuing and professional education, Karen is a commissioner with the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and served as the Chair of the Commission. She has facilitated national workshops to help applicants successfully establish solid policies and procedures to meet compliance standards. Her passion is creating excellent educational experiences for adults to help them achieve their professional goals!

To stay relevant on current workforce and economic development issues, she served on the Atlanta Regional Commission Workforce Development Board, and chaired the ARC NextGen (Youth) Committee. She also participated on committees with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, MAX, HDCI, One Henry Workforce, and Clayton County Schools CTAE.

She is now consulting with organizations, companies, universities, and colleges who want to ensure that they are offering quality continuing and professional education programs and have efficient operations.

Success in a learning event is dependent on active participation and engagement by the attendee throughout the course. In order to earn a course completion certificate and digital badge for any IACET learning event, attendees are required to fully participate in the training activities, lectures, and discussion. This applies to those attending in-person and remotely. Participation is defined as greater than 90% attendance of the scheduled course time and active engagement verified by the facilitator. Remote participation requires a working webcam and microphone; the webcam must be activated throughout the learning event.

Registration fees will be refunded only if requests for cancellation/refunds are received in writing at least two weeks prior to the conference or educational offering. A 20% processing fee will be assessed. No refunds will be made within 14 days of an offering. However, substitutes may be made for another delegate to attend activities offered by the Association in lieu of the original applicant.
