Over the last year, NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement, a non-profit education provider for the public procurement discipline, systematically reevaluated how we engage our learning community. Building upon traditional learning methodologies, we embarked on a new journey, incorporating competency models, certificates and traveling badges, and learner-centrism alongside a new learning management system to cultivate learner-led experiences based on individualized professional goals. While not new, these individual facets combined to transform NIGP’s learning capability, revolutionizing our learning landscape to provide practical and impactful learning experiences for new and returning members alike.
Using the Institute’s “Learning Reimagined” initiative as a case study, Laura Shelters, the Director of Content Research and Development, and Bradley Davis, the Content Editor, explore how learning organizations can challenge both themselves and their stakeholders to stay on the cutting edge of the new-age learning environment and on the right side of IACET-endorsed methodologies. By the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss membership and engagement challenges as they relate to non-profit organizations worldwide.
  • Determine key elements of a learner-centric environment.
  • Identify techniques and methodologies that can be used to curate an organizational culture of life-long learning.
