Sterling, VA, July 27, 2026 – The International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) announced today that the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard for Continuing Education and Training is now available in the Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange® (CASE®) format, the global interoperability standard developed by 1EdTech Consortium for publishing and exchanging academic standards, competencies, and learning outcomes across digital systems. This milestone makes the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard digitally referenceable, machine-readable, and interoperable, connecting continuing education and training to the same standards format used throughout K–12 education and higher education.
As an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Developer, IACET advances quality in continuing education and training through the ANSI/IACET Standard. Publishing the Standard in the CASE format extends that commitment by making it easier for learning providers, technology platforms, credentialing organizations, and employers to consistently reference and align curriculum elements to the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard across the digital learning ecosystem.

Developed by 1EdTech Consortium, CASE provides an open, machine-readable format that allows standards and competency frameworks to be consistently exchanged, referenced, and understood across learning management systems, credentialing platforms, learner records, and other education technologies. By publishing the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard in CASE, IACET becomes one of the first organizations to extend this level of interoperability into the continuing education and training sector.

The implementation was completed in partnership with Common Good Learning Tools, whose expertise in learning standards, digital credentials, and interoperability helped transform the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 Standard into a fully compliant CASE framework. Their work ensures the Standard can be integrated across modern learning technologies while preserving the rigor and intent of the ANSI/IACET 1-2018 accreditation process.
