Course Description

Designed to empower new and veteran professionals alike, IACET’s Foundations of Policy and Compliance workshop leverages best practices and guidelines aligning to IACET’s Standard for Continuing Education and Training to help organizations standardize, monitor, and grow their content development functions. By exploring the concepts of authority, control, and responsibility of the training function, attendees will learn how to promote a culture of accountability.  Discussion of centralization of the role and responsibilities of training as a method of empowering the entirety of the organization to operate the highest levels of excellence.

 

Course Modules include:

  • Module 1: Authority, Control, and Responsibility
  • Module 2: Policy Creation and Alignment
  • Module 3: Performance Oversight and Compliance

 

Workshop Completion Requirements

Completion of this course awards the following IACET Digital Credentials based on materials completed:

  • Bronze Tier | Requires completion of all eLearning Modules as validated through IACET’s LMS.
  • Silver Tier | Requires completion of all previous Badge Tiers in addition to attendance and active participation during the Week 1 and 2 Live Facilitation sessions.
  • Gold Tier | Requires completion of all previous Badge Tiers in addition to completion of the Foundations of Policy and Compliance Final Assessment with a minimum score of 80%.

 

Cohort Schedule

  • 4/10/2025 | eLearning Module 1 – Explore the foundations of policies, processes, and procedures, setting a foundational stage for our Live Facilitation.
  • 4/17/2025 | Week 1 Live Facilitation – Join your facilitator for an interactive, practical-application cohort engagement from 11:00 AM ET to 1:00 PM ET. This session focuses on collaboration and application, empowering you with new skills and innovative ways to create and adhere to organizational governance.
  • 4/18/2025 | eLearning Module 2 – Keep the momentum alive in our second eLearning Module as you dig deeper into compliance and oversight, exploring the functional way managers and policy owners can augment their compliance function.
  • 4/25/2025 | Week 2 Live Facilitation – Join your facilitator from 11:00 AM ET – 1:00 PM ET for our final Live Facilitation, pulling your handouts, checklists, tool kits, and case studies together for a reflective workshop wrap up.
  • 4/25/2025 | Cohort Final Assessment Open – Eager to claim an open digital credential and showcase your success? Complete the optional Final Assessment to earn your Gold Tier Badge, shareable via social media. You’ll have until 4/30/2025 to complete the material before your course enrollment expires!

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:

  • Identify the role and relevance of policies, processes, and procedures within the training function.
  • Identify organizational mechanisms for regulatory alignment, including global requirements based on regional demographics served.
  • Determine identified organizational authority based on hierarchy, cultural alignment, and regulatory responsibility.
  • Determine when, how, and why to implement continuous improvement opportunities based on policy and process type and scope.
  • Create transparent communication channels to develop, centralize, and oversee policy and process implementation.
