NYS Nurses Association
The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) was founded in 1901
as the nation's first state nurses association. The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) is the voice for nursing in the Empire State. With more than 40,000 members, and more than 300,000 registered professional nurses in New York State, it is New York's largest professional association and union for registered professional nurses. NYSNA represents registered nurses, pharmacists, social workers, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists for collective bargaining in New York and New Jersey. It supports nurses and nursing practice and other licensed professional healthcare workers and their practices through continuing education, research, legislative advocacy, and collective bargaining. The New York State Nurses Association has been an accredited provider of continuing education for more than 40 years through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
