Q. Is it a requirement to take the AP workshop before submitting an AP application?
No. However, organizations interested in becoming IACET Authorized Providers or renewing their authorization are encouraged to participate in a workshop to learn about the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard and Authorized Provider application process. Our experience shows that workshop participants submit applications that require fewer clarifications and move more quickly through the review process.
Q. How much does it cost to register for an AP workshop, and is there a group discount rate if I am interested in registering more than one person?
The AP workshop registration fee is $500. There is no group discount rate at this time. Each person interested in attending an AP workshop needs to register individually and pay the registration fee.
Q. Where and how often are the workshops held?
The AP workshops are held throughout the country. We try to offer one each month.
Q. How long is the workshop, and what will I get out of it?
The workshop is a one-day program. At the end of the program, you will be able to:
- Discuss the benefits of IACET AP status based on this workshop
- Identify satisfactory responses to the IACET AP application:
a) Discuss standard element minimum requirements and interpretation/intent
b) Identify sample responses that meet the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard
c) Correct a process that does not meet the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard
d) Calculate CEUs- Document processes to meet the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard
- Explain the IACET AP application process
Q. Can I host a workshop in my city?
Yes. The host application form is available here. Simply complete the form and submit it to info@iacet.org, and an IACET staff member will contact you regarding logistical needs and suitable dates. As a host, you will be entitled to send one individual from your organization to the workshop free of charge. We encourage you or someone from your organization to take advantage of the complimentary workshop registration and welcome the promotion of the workshop throughout your organization and community.
Q. If I am unable to attend an AP workshop that I registered for, can I reschedule?
Yes. Cancellations must be received at the IACET office in writing two weeks prior to the scheduled workshop; a service charge of 20 percent will be deducted from all refunds. In lieu of a refund, registrations may be transferred to an alternate workshop within 6 months of the original workshop date. The transfer request must be received two weeks prior to the originally scheduled workshop date; otherwise a service charge of 40% will be applied to the registration fee.
