In the current climate of highly limited resources, and dwindling support for continuing educatino programming, it is critical that the assessment of new opportunities be carefully examined and vetted for financial viability. The Program Launch process was designed to provide a structured approach to quickly, effectively and thoroughly assess new programming concepts and to determine whether to invest time and resources in new programs.
The team which devised this process was comprised of members across the College from finance, marketing, workforce development and operations. The result was the creation of a process flow and decision tree comprised of concise "phases" designed to make go/no-go decisions quickly vs. the traditional financial investment and extensive resources in programs that had a high probability of failure. The success rate after implementing this process was about 80% program hold rate vs. a 90% program cancellation rate.
